All Grade 5 students did a fantastic job making the Chinese dragon as seen in the photo above. The students wrote a sentence in Chinese about their name on a paper plate and decorated it with red and gold circles.
Thank you to the following students who came to assemble the dragon during a couple of lunch times: Ahmad E-H, Anna N, Amelia R & Sarah R. If you walk past the Chinese room, come and have a look at this amazing art work. Resources are available in the Resources section of this website. Students are encouraged to use them at home in order to help improve their language skills. Please click this link Resources.

In Chinese, students in Grade 3, 4 & 5 have learnt everyday greetings, such as hello, goodbye and thank you. They have also learnt 'Pinyin', the phonetics of Mandarin Chinese. Below is a youtube link to the Pinyin song that the students have been practising in class. It would help them improve their listening and speaking skills if they could watch it regularly at home.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Ayvjy-Dgs All Grade 4 & 5 students should have downloaded the two Apps LoopSkool Chinese and LoopSkool Chinese 2 onto their iPads. If any students have not done so, they can still download them for free for the lite versions of the Apps. Please ensure they are downloaded and students' iPads are charged and brought to school for their Chinese lessons. Grade 3 students will have access to the Apps on the school iPads. |
